Yukon.

Yukon is my first "real" race dog. He is my "once in a lifetime" dog as i like to call him.

He is a dog you don't need to teach much, he just knows it all naturally. He is such a stable dog that just ALWAYS runs good.

I bought him in France from somebody who had bought 3 pups from the same litter but decided to send them all off to better homes. His breeder Thierry Lo cascio from Marseille got me in touch with his previous owner.

When we decided to buy yukon he was already 11 months old.

3 Months later my father had the crazy idea that I should participate to what would be my first world championship in Borken in 2011 (Germany). It was my last year as a junior (but also my first). I decided to participate and see how it went.

Little did I know we would rock the 2,5km trail and run a time the second day (over 22km/h) wich was faster then the Senior women and 4th best time compared to the men.

It resulted in my first participation in a world championship ever, bringing home my first gold medal in canicross junior women.

Tears were flowing while standing on the podium,.... tears of joy

That's how our story started.

Yukon is a type of dog we call European sleddog (ESD)/eurohound/alaskan husky mix.
There are many names for this type of "breed".

In the sleddog community the ESD is a well known breed, but for people who don't know it's a type of dog specially breed to run as fast as possible and pull as hard as possible ;)

They started to cross siberian huskies with pointers (english pointer, ESD) and in some cases also with some greyhound and other breeds.
